The Enemy of Our Minds
02 March 2008

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 is an oft quoted Scripture with regard to spiritual warfare. It’s often cited to remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but rather in the realms of the spirit. Yet I’ve seldom, if ever, heard anyone explain the verses beyond that. This passage on spiritual warfare is very telling and reveals much to us concerning the battle that we’re engaged in. The Apostle Paul also tells us in Ephesians that we’re not unaware of the wiles or schemings of the enemy, but truth be said, most of us are truly ignorant of how the enemy operates.

I want to suggest that the primary weapon and scheme that the enemy employs is one involving our thought lives and our words. In the passage cited above, we’re told four things that the enemy hurls at us – strongholds, arguments, every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and thoughts. Strongholds are wrong thinking patterns that are inconsistent with God’s truth, while arguments are statements that runs contrary to God’s will. At the same time, the enemy is set against people coming to the knowledge of God and he seeks to cause us to think thoughts of disobedience. The amazing thing is this – that all these weapons of the enemy has its battleground in our minds and comes through words and statements that causes us to run afoul of God’s plans and purposes. This is how the enemy works!

One of the keys to overcoming the enemy is found in Philippians 4:8. Eight checks are given to us for our thought pattern. Anything that does not qualify within these eight items is not permitted to find residence in our thought lives. As we approach the days of shaking, the intensity of spiritual battle is going to increase. All the more then, do we need to be aware of enemy’s schemes to derail our lives. For to be forewarned is to be forearmed. May our thoughts be truly stayed on the Lord and let us give no room to the enemy in our lives.

This story is taken off a Book by Dr Steve Farrar and it has implications for many of us. Read this in the Spirit…

“His life could not have been going any better. He was an evangelist who preached the Word with the Holy Spirit’s authority and power. He was the most sought after evangelist in his denomination and if you had wanted this man to come and preach in your church, you had to get in line and wait for a minimum of four years. He was a man who was enjoying the favor of God on his life and ministry. The numerous invitations were always a pull away from his family. But he and his wife had settled on a formula that had worked well and enabled him to spend time at home with his bride and son that he dearly loved. The formula was simple: the evangelist would go out and preach for two weeks and then come home for two weeks. Then he would go out again for two weeks and back home for another two. Everything was working and God was blessing. His marriage was strong. His boy, now a teenager, was doing well in school and athletics. And his ministry was taking off like a rocket and then one day, the phone rang.

“It was a very short phone call from his wife. She just had the latest in a series of arguments with their 16-yr-old son. She had asked him to do something and he told her point-blank that he wasn’t going to do it. This six-foot-two boy was wearing her down. His strong will was starting to take its toll. So she called her husband and in a fairly short conversation reported the events that had just taken place and then she simply said, “I need you.” He replied that he would cancel the remaining meetings and drive home immediately. But neither one of them knew that their son was listening to their conversation from the next room. The teenager knew he was pushing the limits and was curious to see how his father would respond. He would soon find out. His father arrived home and within days, a “For Sale” sign was in the front yard. The father then cancelled every one of his scheduled meetings for the next four years and accepted the pastorate of a small church in another state. For the next two years, until his son graduated from high school and went off to college, he pastored the small church and mentored his growing son.

“With his son headed off to college, he was ready to return to evangelism. But in those few years, multiple changes had taken place in his church denomination. Many of the older pastors had retired and been replaced by younger men who were unfamiliar with his ministry. Invitations were far less frequent and those few years away from evangelism had cost him dearly in terms of his career and calling. Quite frankly, to a degree, he would never recover. His decision to go home had come at a great price. But because he had made the tough decision and went home to focus on his family, years later, his son would begin a ministry known as Focus on the Family. The son is Dr. James Dobson.”

Yoyoyoyo.. I know that the cell blog has been dead for very long, now it's time to revive it.. haha.. I think this time, let's make this blog happening.. We can post testimonies of people getting saved, post of people having revelation from God, post of encouragements, motivations.. as long as not to make this blog dead.. although not alot of people can have access to the blog, what you all can do is can tell us, we will look thru then if it's alright then we can post it lo..

So let me be the first one to start it off.. I used to think that cell, church is all about ministry.. But NO! It's about having a relationship with God our Father. How much of Him do we really know? Are we really able to say that we know ALOT about God? well, praise God if you said 'yes' . I cant say for myself that i know alot about God cos He is our everything, there is so much things to learn, to practice. We will never stop learning, it only gets more.. so I encourage you people to get up, start walking with God.. our walk with God is not a race, we should enjoy God in our everyday life..

And also, I really want to pray for those who have hurts in your life. WHen you all see this post, let those who have hurts, baggages in your life be freed from all these and not letting mr.SAtan to pull you back from what you can achieve.. I believe everyone have potential that is jus hidden at the moment, DO ask God to release it, to start activating it..

jus a quote from John Maxwell:
"People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care"

Start loving people, your family, your classmates, the people around you..
Start loving the Unlovables.. It may be tough, but if Jesus can, so can we.. keep trying.. =D

God bless all Warriors Of Christ,
Nigel

if you guys remembered jian cong spoke about kindness 2 weeks ago.. what are we building here? building people who are tares. who are empty on the inside with the nice and good packaging? or buliding and sowing and planting wheats? i am asking myself, what are we doing every saturaday and sunday?

we are all like compasses.. primary school science.. if you all remember.. a needle is just a needle.. but if it is magnetise.. it can become a useful tool.. a compass.. what's a compass anyway. it is to help us. to guide us to our destination. to tell us where we are, and how to get there. it is a relevation i recieved few weeks back. if you guys dont know, there is an invisible magnetic field beneath the earth. hence, when a needle is being magnetise by a magnet. it will be attracted to the magnetic force field. hence, the needle of the compass always points north.

God is like this invisible force. He is always there. we are like the needle. just as the needle needs to be magnetise. we need to be connected to God. so that He can guide us. and lead us to where HE WANTS US TO BE.

i want to ask you guys this. have u lost the magnetisim. are you lost? you dont know where you are. and dont know where God is leading you. what's the next step.
